Giddings Times & News - Thursday, September 24, 2009. The ribbon-cutting and Open House for the new Giddings High School Drew hundreds of citizens who got their first chance to see the new facility. Michael Kuhrt. Dedication of new Giddings Schools draws nearly 1,500. Citizens from all over county tour new facilities Sunday. An estimated 1,400 to 1,500 people came out Sunday for the Dedication and Open House for the new Giddings ISD $38 million construction project, touring campuses at the elementary, intermediate, middle and high schools. A ribbon-cutting and opening program was conducted at three of the campuses every two hours starting at 2 p.m. Visitors, as well as parents and other relatives of students who attend the Giddings schools, got to see the modern design and renovations that turned these campuses into state-of-the-art facilities.
