Gaeke Construction Receives Contract from the Capital Area Rural Transportation System
We are pleased to announce that Gaeke Construction won the contract from the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS) to construct the Taylor Station, an intermodal transit facility in Taylor, Texas to be completed in the spring of 2011.
The $1.5 million project consists of three buildings on a 1.3 acre developed site. The feature building of the project is a 1,558 square foot main station building where passengers will wait for their buses. Also included is a 2,546 square foot maintenance building and a 6,900 square foot bus storage facility. The site development consists of pedestrian canopies, parking and associated concrete paving and driveways.
Several green building techniques are incorporated into this project including a rainwater collection system to be used for irrigation and water for vehicle maintenance. Solar panels will also be located on the roof of the bus storage facility to provide ancillary power for the facility.
