This type of jail facility has an unusual sequence of construction. The building is assembled from the inside out. After the structural slab is in place the next phase of work is the structural concrete block for the detention area. Once the block is complete, hollow core concrete slabs are placed on top of the concrete block walls which act as a roof for the detention area as well as a floor for the mechanical / attic area. Once these structural components for the detention area are complete a pre-engineered metal building and standing seam roof is assembled over the complete interior structure.

The mechanical and electrical components of this building are extensive and complex. The numerous control systems, fire alarm, intercom, detention equipment, smoke detection and the interface of all these components to provide a complete working system is an example of Gaeke Construction Project Management coordination skills.
