2010 Gold Award from the Building of America Network
Gaeke Construction Company was awarded a Building of America Contractor Gold Medal for their role as Construction Manager at Risk for the Giddings High School construction project. The Building of America Network award winners showcase the most innovative, unique and challenging new projects that are particularly noteworthy and/or give back to the communities they serve.
"Being a part of this project from its conception is a win-win. All of us at Gaeke Construction value the ability to provide pre-construction services for a project as complex as this one and the school district reaped the rewards of our involvement by saving time and money." -Robert Gaeke, President of Gaeke Construction Company
The result of this team effort was a new 170,000 square foot high school facility, and a conversion of the existing 90,000 square foot high school into a middle school facility, new parking and site infrastructure - all designed to meet the district's current and future needs. The construction package totaled $27 million, which was within the funds allotted by the Board. The project was delivered on schedule and on budget.
