Giddings High School

The Giddings High School Project consists of two individual projects which together completes the new facility. The first phase of the project is a 170,000 sq. ft. new building. New classrooms, administration area, library, kitchen and cafeteria, performing arts center, two new gyms and athletic training area all arranged in an ultra contemporary setting. The mixture of stone, brick, glass and metal all work together to produce a very unique architectural appearance. Construction time for the new building was 14 months.

The second phase of the project was to convert the existing 60,000 sq. ft. high school into a new middle school. The existing building was completely renovated to include new flooring, painting, ceilings, electrical, fire sprinkler, plumbing and air conditioning systems. The existing building remodeling was completed in 8 weeks. The uniqueness of the design is also demonstrated through the sharing of facilities between the two structures. The library, cafeteria, performing arts and the athletic areas are shared between the Middle School and the High School. The sharing of these areas eliminates redundant expense and allows for the maximum use of the building.
